The Elephants

Human or Animal Urine Can be Used

David Buuck

Urea nitrate makes
a goodexplosivemunition.

It is easy to prepare
from nitric acid
and urine.

It can be detonated
with a blastingcap.

Boil a large quantity
of urine(like ten cups)
to approximately one-
tenth its volume
in a one-gallon heat and
acid-resistant container
made of glass or clay,
placedover a heatsource.

Filter the urine
into another
similar container
through filtering
materialsuch as
a paper towel
or finelytextured
cottoncloth
like a shirtor sheet

This will help
removeimpurities.

Slowly add
one third cup of
nitric acid to
the filtered urine
and letthe mixturestand
for one hour.

Take caution, as
the acid can
burnskin
and destroy
clothing.

If any is spilled,
wash it away
with a large
quantityof water.

Do not
inhale
fumes.

Filter the mixture
backinto the first
container, again
through a filter
taped to the top.

Crystals
will collect
on the paper.

Wash the urea
nitrate
by pouring
water
over it.

Removethe crystals
from the filtering
material and
allowto dry
thoroughly.
This can take up
tosixteen hours.

The drying time
can be reduced
to two hours if
a hotbut not boiling
waterbathis used.

Spoon the crystals
into an iron
or steelpipe
which has
on its end
a threadedendcap.

Insertthe blasting
cap just beneath
the surface of
the crystals.

Confining
the openend
of the container
will addto its
effectiveness.

The tactical
benefits of what
you’ve made
versus those
of poems
can now be
debated, in
discursive and/or
material terms.

Stay pissed, poets.
