The Elephants is on hiatus for the year 2025 to address distribution and some changes to internal organization. We will re-open for submissions in 2026. If you would like to be notified when we do, sign up through the link below, download a free chapbook, or send us your email address through the contact form.

We plan to announce a new distributor soon. In the meantime, all our titles remain available through direct orders. Please be patient as delivery times may vary.

We typically publish two books a year. When we do, we read poetry, essays, memoirs, short story collections, novels and novellas, translations, children's literature, as well as any cross-genre, translation, or multi-lingual work (etc.). There are no restrictions on your legal status, citizenship, location, or whatever else; anyone from anywhere can submit anything that is full book-length.
